First Blog in over a year!

Wow, I cannot believe that I have not blogged in 18 months! The last blog I posted was about my baby shower for our little girl that was on the way, let's just say ALOT has happened since then! We stay constantly busy but I've decided that I need to make time for blogging, its such a great way to keep up with the day to day events and fun to go back and look at past events! So this post will be a long one, I hope to bring everyone up to date! Be prepared! I will start where we left off...
We were still patiently waiting the arrival of our daughter Kyleigh. The last belly picture I posted was at 35 weeks. So here are the pictures of my last 4 weeks of pregancy:
Then, she ARRIVED! Kyleigh Marie White was born on June 24, 2010 at 2:17 am. She weigh 8 pounds even and was 20.5 inces long. I went into labor on June 23rd exactly at midnight! I was laying on the couch reading a book and started cramping a little. After 2 hours of cramping, I told my husband it was time! We drove to the hospital where I was told that I was 3 centimeters dialated and my contractions were 3-4 min. apart. Since I was not 4 centimeters dialated, the hospital sent me home to rest a little while long to dialate comforatbly. YEAH RIGHT. I endured mild contractions the entire day until about 4pm when I had a contraction so bad it made me cry. My last meal before I was admitted to the hospital was a Mushroom Swiss Burger from Hardees! We went back to the hospital and I was now 4cm dialated so they admitted me. We then started the waiting game. I got my epidural early THANK GOD so I didnt have to endure any hurtful contractions. After hours of easy labor, Dr Marino came in to check my progress and expected me to be about 6cm dialated he as well as I was shocked to hear that I was 9cm and rimming! He said give it about an hour and we would start pushing. No later than 5 min after he and the nurse walked out, I told my husband that my epidural was starting to wear off and I was feeling contractions and the urge to start pushing. We called for the nurse and sure enough when she checked, she could see hair!! AHH! This was it! Time to start pushing! Since it was the wee hours of the morning, I was lucky enough to have 3 people in the delivery room with me. My mom, TJ, and TJ's mom! I pushed for only 30 min laughing and goofing off the entire time. The nurse said it was time to stop pushing and go get the doctor. I begged her to let me push one more time, but during that push she had to stop me because baby girl was trying to come out! Ahhh! So Dr. Marino rushes in and throws on all his protective gear, TJ got a giggle out of that! And a couple more pushed and I was being handed the love of my life! She cried and then when I got her on my chest, she was so peaceful. While the doctor was handing her to me, she reached out and grabbed wires. She layed on my chest for a good 15 min and then she was taken by the nurses along with her dad to be cleaned and weighed. We were all playing the guessing game on her weight and everyone guessed she was between 6-7 pounds especially the DR. We were all surprised to find out she was 8 pounds! Big girl! My only complaints right after labor were neck pain, I had TJ pushing my neck everytime I lifted to push (not a good idea) it made for a VERY VERY painful neck afterwards. After family and friends came into the delivery room to meet Kyleigh she was taken to the nursery and TJ and I were taken to our room where we slept until 9am. We were then brought our babygirl and the rest is history. Enjoy these pictures from our hospital stay:

Ok, whew! This is a long post! Bear with me! ;) So now that we have our sweet daughter with us this is when time really started flying by! It would take WAY too long to blog about every little joy that has happened in this first year so I will just share our favorite milestones! These videos we have taken along the way range from her first time sucking her thumb to now where she is communicating so very well with us! ENJOY:

Kyleigh learned to clap!

Kyleigh walking for the FIRST time! I was SO excited!!

Kyleigh knows what number comes after ONE and she can do the "Home Alone" scream:

Now, Kyleigh is 16 months old and growing like crazy! I still can't believe I have a toddler. She is such a joy to be around. We are so excited about this upcoming holiday season with her! She was Tinkerbell this year for Halloween and now we can't wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She is actually old enough now to understand and I think we are going to be more excited than her this year! Stay tuned for all the fun holiday posts to come!

Now back to this past year...On on October 9, 2010, TJ and I had our fairytale wedding. Here is a slideshow of all the wedding pictures, of course taken by Jennie Young. Check out her photography site at Jenniferyoungphoto.com

I shaved my legs for THIS?!?!!

I have apparently learned the hard way that when you are 8 months pregnant and can't see your feet, it is probably best to shave while taking a bath, not a shower. And another good thing to remember is that a shower curtain will NOT catch you when you fall! On April 27th, I fell out of the shower while shaving and landed directly on my belly on the edge of the tub! OUCH! It actually didn't hurt that bad and I felt fine, but I called my docotor JUST to make sure! Well, she wanted me to come in so we could make sure Miss Kyleigh was doing alright. After being hooked up to the fetal monitor for about and hour and a half, Kyleigh's heartbeat was fast and strong and she was still moving like crazy BUT I was having mild contractions! And when you are only 31 weeks pregnant, that is NOT something you wanna hear! Dr. Hensarling believed the contractions were brought on by stress and said alot of water, tylenol, and rest would calm them down. So, I was placed on bed rest for 48 hours! I am just thankful that I am ok and most importantly Kyleigh is doing just fine and is still healthy as ever!

Big scare!

So now that I have FINALLY entered my 3rd trimester, my body is going through some MAJOR changes! I guess I am still getting used to those changes! I had a HUGE scare today! I had very severe abdominal cramping! It brought me to tears! I was so worried about our little Kyleigh. I guess that is normal for a first time mom-to-be! After enduring the pain for about an hour and a half, I contacted my nurse and she told me to try drinking lots of water, taking tylenol, and lying on my left side for an hour! WHEW! It worked! She informed me that I would start feeling Braxton Hicks Contractions around this time (28 weeks), and that my uterus could have also been under stress from not drinking enough fluids and being too active and over doing it! I am so relieved to be feeling much better!
